COVID-19 UPDATE, 18/3/2020, 11:57 AM
We are currently experiencing a global pandemic which is completely unprecedented in my lifetime, and I found myself wondering what I could do to help. Lots of schools, teachers and parents are currently scrambling to find contingency resources suitable for homeschooling. At time of writing, schools here in the UK remain open, but despite official government advice that they do not intend to shut them yet, I suspect that will change in the next few days.

In times like this I believe it's important for everyone to pull together, so to that end I have removed the paywall on the resources on this site to allow everyone to access them free of charge. I deliberately designed them to enable non-physics-specialists, including parents, to teach the lessons, or for students to teach themselves. There's a dozen lessons and an exam-style end of unit test suitable for all GCSE and IGCSE students, all free to access for the foreseeable future.

I hope that they are of some use to anyone who wants them, and I hope that you and those you care about remain healthy and safe in this difficult time.

Good luck,

Mr Thornton

COVID-19 UPDATE 2, 18/3/2020, 14:35 PM
Well, shortly after I made these resources free the government of Wales announced they would be shutting their schools from Friday, and the Scottish government announced the same shortly after. I'll be very surprised if this doesn't become UK-wide by the end of the week. Again, good luck folks.

COVID-19 UPDATE 3, 18/3/2020, 17:43 PM
I did not realise when I decided to make these resources free this morning that things would move this quickly and that all schools would be shut after this Friday. It's unlikely GCSEs (or A Levels) will run this academic year (but maybe in the autumn). These resources will be free to access at least until schools reopen, whenever that may be. Take care everyone, avoid crowds, and best of luck to you all.
